Borrowing Policies

All students must present their student ID to borrow materials, including reserve items. All materials borrowed with the student identification card become the student’s responsibility. Items are charged out for two weeks, but may be renewed as needed. Seeley Memorial Library does not charge overdue fines. Holds on grades, transcripts and registration will be placed on student accounts for non-return of materials.

Freshman Lackawanna College students are also provided a Lackawanna County Library System (LCLS) library card, when they fill out a LCLS library card application. With the LCLS library card, students and faculty may borrow materials from any of the eight libraries in the county system, including the Scranton Public Library, located across the street from the main college building. Through Access Pennsylvania, the LCLS card also grants patrons borrowing privileges at the University of Scranton’s Weinberg Memorial Library, the Marywood University Library, and Penn State Worthington Library. Holds on grades, transcripts and registration will be placed on student accounts for non-return of any LCLS materials.

Those students attending Lackawanna College’s satellite centers may obtain a library card from a Pennsylvania public library near their home. The majority of Pennsylvania public libraries have access to the Power Library databases. Should a student not live near a state-aided public library, he/she may choose to pay the necessary non-resident fee charged at another library to obtain access to Power Library.
